Frequently Asked Questions
Will my project be transferred from one company to another?
+
No, your project is fully managed by Inhaus Living from start to finish. We handle the entire process internally, so you won’t be passed between different companies or left managing multiple contractors.
How quickly can you start a project?
+
Start times depend on the level of planning and our current schedule. Most projects begin around 2 to 6 weeks after finalising scope, selections, and approvals. More complex projects or those requiring approvals may take longer.
Is the company a licensed builder and does it hold the insurance required in Australia?
+
Yes, Inhaus Living is a fully licensed builder and holds all required insurances in accordance with Australian regulations. This includes public liability and, where applicable, home building compensation cover. We’re also happy to provide documentation if required for your peace of mind.
What services do you provide?
+
Inhaus Living provides a complete, end-to-end renovation service, from initial planning through to final construction. Our services include design guidance, budgeting, material and finish selection, project management, and full construction. We specialise in residential renovations, including bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, and full internal upgrades. Everything is managed under one roof, so you’re not dealing with multiple contractors or coordinating the project yourself.
Will I have to hire other companies for different services?
+
No, Inhaus Living manages the entire renovation process for you, from planning through to construction. All trades and suppliers are coordinated by our team, so you’re not dealing with multiple contractors. In some cases, such as appliances, items may be client-supplied, but we handle the installation and integration.
Is there a warranty period for the services?
+
Yes, all Inhaus Living projects are covered by warranty in line with Australian regulations. This includes statutory warranties for workmanship and structural elements. We also stand behind our work and are available to address any issues after completion.
What is included in the initial consultation, and is there a charge for it?
+
Our initial consultation is focused on understanding your project and providing a clear, realistic budget range. We’ll discuss your goals, layout, finishes, and walk you through the expected scope and key cost factors. This is not a fixed quote stage, it’s a professional assessment to help you plan with confidence. In most cases, the initial consultation is free of charge. Any further design or detailed planning would be discussed before proceeding.
Does Inhaus Living offer help with interior design, layout and choosing finishes?
+
Yes, design guidance, layout planning, and finish selection are all part of our service. We help refine the layout, improve functionality, and guide you through selecting finishes that suit your style and budget. If you’re unsure, we’ll recommend options and help you make confident, informed decisions without overcomplicating the process.
How long does a kitchen or bathroom renovation take, on average?

Timelines depend on scope and complexity, but as a general guide:
• Bathrooms: around 3 to 4 weeks
• Kitchens: around 5 to 7 weeks
More complex projects or those involving layout changes, custom joinery, or access constraints may take longer. We ensure everything is properly planned before starting to help minimise delays and keep the project running smoothly.

Do you handle council approvals, DA, CDC or strata approvals, if necessary?
+
Yes, we can guide and assist with the approval process where required. This may include council approvals (DA), CDC, or strata approvals, depending on the project. We help identify what’s needed early and coordinate with the appropriate consultants to ensure everything is handled correctly.
Do you use high-quality materials and suppliers? Can I choose specific brands?
+
Yes, we work with a curated range of trusted, high-quality suppliers to ensure a consistent and well-finished result. You’re also welcome to choose specific brands or products, and we can incorporate them where suitable or recommend comparable options. Our role is to guide you toward selections that look great and perform well long-term.
Do you have any projects similar to my type of house or flat?
+
Yes, we have experience across a wide range of homes, including both houses and apartments. Many of our projects involve layouts similar to what most homeowners are working with. We can also share relevant past projects to give you a clearer idea of what’s possible.
Does the Inhaus Living team coordinate all the tradespeople (electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.)?
+
Yes, all trades are fully coordinated and managed by the Inhaus Living team. Each project is overseen by a dedicated project manager who coordinates scheduling, supervision, and overall delivery. This ensures everything runs in the right order, to a consistent standard, with a single point of contact throughout.
What sets Inhaus Living apart from a traditional builder or lower-cost companies?
+
Inhaus Living offers a structured, end-to-end approach focused on planning, not just construction. We guide the process from the beginning, including layout, budget, and selections, to ensure everything is clearly defined before building starts. This reduces surprises, improves quality control, and delivers a smoother, more predictable result. Everything is managed under one roof, so you’re not coordinating multiple parties yourself.
Is it possible to view the design (3D renderings, mood boards or floor plans) before work begins?
+
Yes, we can provide layouts, mood boards, and in some cases 3D visuals before construction begins. The level of detail depends on the project and stage, with more developed visuals provided as the design progresses. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident in the design direction before work starts.
How does the company deal with hidden problems, such as leaks, mould or an ageing structure?
+
Hidden issues can arise during renovations, especially in older properties. If something is uncovered, we assess it, explain the situation clearly, and outline the required solution and cost before proceeding. Our approach is to address issues properly, not overlook them, ensuring a sound and long-lasting result.
How do I know if now is the right time to start a renovation, or should I wait?
+
It usually comes down to how clear you are on your goals and budget. If you’re ready to improve the space and have a general direction, it’s a good time to start planning. You don’t need everything decided, we can guide you through the process and help you understand scope and costs early on. If there are major uncertainties, it may make sense to wait, but an initial conversation is always a good place to start.
